Vientiane Regional Workshop on Universalisation of the Convention on Cluster Munitions for Asia-Pacific States

The Government of Lao PDR, together with the CCM Implementation Support Unit and with funding from Australia, Canada, Ireland, the Philippines, and Switzerland, hosted a Regional Workshop on the Universalisation of the Convention on Cluster Munitions for Asia and the Pacific from 27 to 29 May 2026.

The workshop took place as Lao PDR holds the Presidency of the Third Review Conference of the CCM States Parties. It brought together several States from the region, along with one of the two Coordinators on Universalisation of the Convention, the Representative of Costa Rica. Its goals were to deepen regional cooperation, encourage wider adherence to the Convention, and build technical understanding of how it works in practice.
