A broad range of tools have been developed to assist States Parties to fulfill their obligations under Article 9 of the Convention.
- The ICRC model legislation for Common Law States is a tool for States to develop their national legislation in accordance with Article 9 of the Convention.
- New Zealand, as Coordinator on National Implementation Measures, presented a model legislation at the Second Meeting of States Parties (2MSP) for small States that do not possess cluster munitions and are not contaminated by them. The Model Legislation is available in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.
- The ICRC domestic measures checklist is a quick and user-friendly reference for States Parties to assess if existing national legislation and administrative measures are sufficient to ensure full implementation of the Convention.
To date, 31 States Parties have indicated in their Article 7 transparency reports that they have adopted specific national legislation to implement the Convention. New Zealand, as Coordinator on National Implementation Measures, prepared a collection of these national laws which can be accessed here.
