Implementation of the Convention in 2011 will be supported by the work
programme adopted by the 1MSP. As part of this the President, assisted by such Friends as required, organized and conducted an interim informal intersessional meeting designed to conduct thematic discussions on substantive issues in June 2011.
The president also appointed Ms. Sara Sekkenes, UNDP Bureau for Crisis Prevention and Recovery, as his Executive Coordinator.
The interim informal intersessional meeting took place in Geneva, Switzerland from 27 to 30 June, 2011. The Second Meeting of States Parties will take place in Beirut, Lebanon, 12 – 16 September 2011.
Meetings of the Friends of the President
The first meeting of Friends was held, Tuesday 30 November 2010. The meeting confirmed Friends and respective areas of work, considered a proposed first draft of architecture paper, and considered possible outcomes of the 2MSP.
